Outside Magazine has selected Coast Law Group LLP as one of America’s “Best Places To Work,” along with a list of several other high-profile surf, skate, and snowboarding companies. Stay tuned to TW Business for a more in-depth look at which companies were named and why.
Here’s more from Coast Law Group on the recent honors:
Encinitas, CA (August 2, 2012) – Encinitas, California based Coast Law Group LLP (CLG), a law firm that thrives on the provision of transactional and litigation services to action sports companies and environmental groups, has been named to Outside Magazine’s fifth annual “Best Places to Work” list. Currently with 20 attorneys and support staff, CLG was ranked No. 44 out of 100 selected companies. The full list is available today at outsideonline.com.
Outside’s “Best Places to Work” project celebrates the innovative companies setting a new standard for a healthy work-life balance. The list was compiled with the help of the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group. The yearlong selection process began with an outreach effort that identified a wide range of non-profit and for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in an office in the United States. Participating companies were sent confidential employee-satisfaction surveys and employer-questionnaires to collect information about benefits, compensation, policies, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives, and community outreach programs. The experts at Best Companies Group then analyzed the results and chose the companies that best enable employees to pursue active lifestyles, while also supporting their social and environmental contributions.
In past years, Outside has highlighted 50 outstanding companies. This year, Best Companies Group determined that there were so many top-quality applicants that the list needed to be expanded. Outside editors agreed, and doubled the size for 2012.
“To be recognized by Outside as one of the best places to work is an honor for everyone on our team, and reflects a major goal of our company,” says CLG Partner, Marco Gonzalez.
“We’ve proven that you don’t have to give up your passion for the outdoors and an active lifestyle simply because you happen to spend time in boardrooms and courtrooms negotiating big deals and resolving disputes,” adds CLG Partner, Seyamack Kouretchian. “Surfing, biking, running, yoga and pilates are among daily activities encouraged by CLG management. Lunchtime health and wellness seminars, flexible work hours, payment of race entry fees for staff, attorney work/surf retreats and sponsorship of local non-profits are other ways that define CLG’s corporate culture.”
“We’re thrilled to celebrate all 100 of these forward-thinking companies,” says Michael Roberts, Senior Executive Editor of Outside. “They believe success depends on helping their employees live more active and fulfilling lives. The kinds of benefits they’re providing-free fitness classes, flexible hours, subsidized healthy meals, lots of time out of the office-result in a more productive and engaged staff.”
