Seyamack Kouretchian is a Senior Partner of Coast Law Group, LLP, where he chairs the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology practice groups, and co-chairs the firms Business Formation and Litigation practice group.
Experienced in Computer/Cyberspace Law, Intellectual Property Law, all aspects of Civil Litigation, and Corporate law, Mr. Kouretchian has successfully assisted hundreds of technology, media, manufacturing, and service-oriented businesses navigate through an often complex legal environment. Experienced in handling intricate negotiations, multi-party litigation, and elaborate strategic planning, Mr. Kouretchian has developed a reputation as a trusted corporate partner and formidable adversary.
Mr. Kouretchian's areas of particular expertise include intellectual property right protection and enforcement, corporate formation and governance, and commercial litigation. A pioneer in computer law, Mr. Kouretchian is renowned for having developed creative, aggressive and advanced methods for resolving and avoiding disputes that may arise in the intangible world of the data bits and bytes. From developing, among other agreements, the international
cybercasting licenses used by musical artists around the world,
to enforcing the rights of the multimedia producers for such projects as Woodstock.com and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, to coordinating complex software development joint ventures between such parties as IBM® , Apple®, Intel® and countless venture-backed start-ups, Mr. Kouretchian's experience with electronic commerce, technology issues, and online entertainment has allowed him to create solutions which are both commercially and legally sound.
In addition, Mr. Kouretchian is particularly knowledgeable about the legal implications arising from and/or related to commercial electronic mail. Mr. Kouretchian counsels clients of various sizes on CAN-SPAM Act compliance and the applicability of traditional legal theories of liability to initiators, distributors, and/or beneficiaries of unsolicited commercial electronic mail.
Because some business deals are not resolved without judicial intervention, Mr. Kouretchian has also developed a uniquely aggressive litigation style. Having successfully litigated cases over his career worth in excess of $50,000,000.00, Mr. Kouretchian is able to provide his clients with effective results and optimal strategies in otherwise impossibly adversarial situations.
